The participant of the international cycle race “The Sun Trip” Raf Van Hulle was the first and arrived in Astana yesterday. The second participant of the cycle race Georges Moita is to arrive today. This was reported to in the French Embassy in Kazakhstan.

Belgian Raf Van Hulle had to get over a hard way but he was the first to cross the border of the territory of Kazakhstan and reach the finish point, having overcome the way for 38 days.

I didn’t response to difficulties during the trip, because I knew: this way will end somewhen, and here I am at the finish point now. I have a lot of impressions of what I’ve seen during the trip, and this stage is a great experience to overcome more difficult routes”, - says the cyclist.

Recall that on June 15 of this year a cycle race “The Sun Trip” started in the French town of Savoie, on the way to “Astana EXPO-2017” from the building of one of the biggest research centers in Europe - the National Institute of solar energy in France (INES). A feature of this bike ride is that travelers do not perform it using simple bikes, but the bikes with an electric motor, rechargeable by solar panels, in support of the International specialized exhibition “Astana EXPO-2017” the theme of which is “Energy of the future”. Thus the participants decided to draw popular attention to the promotion of clean energy.

This unusual experiment involves 33 people from Belgium, Switzerland, Canada, the Czech Republic, France and Kazakhstan. It is already known that French cyclist Georges Moita is the second and he is arriving in the capital today. The other travelers, including the Kazakhstani Syzbaev Askar, who conquered 18 countries, will come to the finish line in the next two weeks.
