Peaceful settlement of the conflict in Afghanistan discussed by Uzbek President and Foreign Minister of France

TASHKENT. March 3. KAZINFORM President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov has received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, Laurent Fabius, the press service of the Republic of Uzbekistan informs.

Welcoming the guest the head of Uzbekistan said that Uzbekistan attaches great importance to the relations with France, as evidenced by the dynamic nature of collaboration and mutual meetings. Karimov expressed his sincere appreciation to President Francois Hollande's recent letter in which he expressed his good feelings and desire to expand relations.

At the meeting consideration has been given to the key issues of regional security and stability, and above all, long-term peaceful settlement of the conflict in Afghanistan and promoting its socio-economic recovery.

L.Fabius expressed his appreciation to the Uzbek President for the warm welcome and the opportunity to constructively exchange views on a wide range of issues of mutual interest.
