Tourism is an area that helps people get to know the country, brings high income to the economy, and provides employment for the population. Considering this, in Tashkent region, special attention is paid to improving tourism facilities’ engineering and communication networks, improving communal and road systems, developing cultural and entertainment infrastructure, and restoring, conserving, and enhancing cultural heritage sites, UzA reports.

Over the past year, 39 projects worth 560 billion 65 million UZS have been implemented in the tourism sector. As a result, 975 new jobs have been created locally. Four special tourist streets have appeared in the region, and additional tourism services have been established. According to experts, 9 million foreign and domestic tourists are expected to arrive in the region in 2024. They are mainly interested in historical sites and holy places.

The adoption of the Presidential Decree of February 9, 2021, “On measures for further development of domestic and pilgrimage tourism in the Republic of Uzbekistan” fully realizes the tourism potential of Parkent district of the region. In particular, the Masjidali shrine, located in the tourist village of Kumushkan, is associated with the name of Hazrat Ali and is considered one of the most popular attractions in the region.

The shrine’s wonderful huge maple and healing spring water arouse the admiration of pilgrims. Many different legends are associated with the name of Hazrat Ali. In this area, silver mines have long existed, which positively influenced the composition of spring waters, making them healing. Thanks to this, the number of visitors booking guest houses is growing in the tourist village. Among them, you can meet foreign tourists.

Also, here is the Zarkent Ota complex – the shrine of Jafar ibn Hussein Sayyid Battol Gazi. Zarkent Ota was a military leader and representative of Sufism at the level of Qutb-ul-Aktab, who lived in the 8th and 9th centuries. Several scholars have dedicated their works to this great man. According to legend, in the battle that took place near the village of Zarkent, Sayyid Jafar Gazi defeated the enemies and disappeared. There are seven shrines of Gazi throughout the world, and the historical complex in the village of Zarkent is considered one of the most famous.

The taste and aroma of fruits grown in the region and unique national dishes prepared from environmentally friendly products attract and enchant tourists.
