Azerbaijani prosecutors have arrived in Grozny, Kazinform News Agency reports.

“In accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, prompt and necessary measures are taken to establish an objective truth of the criminal case launched upon the passenger plane crash near Aktau, Kazakhstan.

For this purpose, a group of employees of the Prosecutor General’s Office is heading to Grozny and, as per the agreement with the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office, is conducting an investigation and other legal proceedings together with their colleagues from this institution,” a statement from the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General’s Office reads.

Earlier, Azerbaijan sent an investigation group led by Deputy Prosecutor General Elmar Jamalov, to Kazakhstan. The Azerbaijani side also requested the Prosecutor General’s Office of Kazakhstan to provide legal assistance in conducting relevant investigative and other necessary legal proceedings related to the case.

On December 26, Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Kanat Bozumbayev stated that the law-enforcement structures of Russia and Azerbaijan would not be allowed  to participate in the forensic investigation (according to the Criminal Procedure Code of Kazakhstan), but would be allowed to join the investigation of the accident.

Earlier, Kazinfom reported that the representatives of the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer arrived in Aktau.
