Plane crash near Aktau: Four survivors in ICU, two in trauma unit

Six passengers of the plane that crashed near the city of Aktau on December 25 are staying in the Mangistau regional hospital. Four of them are in the intensive care unit, while two are receiving treatment at the trauma unit, Kazinform News Agency cites the Healthcare Ministry’s press service.

The healthcare authorities of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan debate the airlifting of three people injured in the passenger plane crash with one of which in critical condition under life support.

As earlier reported, 27 out of 29 survivors were rushed to the Mangistau regional hospital. Most of them sustained various multiorgan injuries, including closed craniocerebral injuries, brain concussion, closed chest injuries, and traumatic shock.

22 ambulance crews of Mangistau region rushed to the site within 10 minutes after the plane crash. Six crews of emergency medicine were already at the scene.

As earlier reported, over 1,500 people countrywide donated 800 liters of blood to the plane crash victims. 490 of them gave blood in Aktau, over 600 in Astana, 125 in Shymkent.

As earlier reported, on December 25, an Azerbaijan Airlines plane flying from Baku to Grozny crashed near Aktau. There were 67 people on board the crashed plane, including five crew members. As a result of the tragedy near Aktau, 38 people died, including all 6 citizens of Kazakhstan, leaving 29 survivors.
