PM Bektenov visits domestic medical equipment manufacturing plant in E Kazakhstan

During his working trip to the East Kazakhstan region, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov surveyed TAKURRA plant specializing in medical equipment and medical products manufacture, Kazinform News Agency learned from the government's press service.

TAKURRA is the only producer of high-precision automatic ICL (immunochemiluminescent) analyzers in the CIS. Using a blood test device,  one can get results for 20 indicators in 14 minutes and detect more than 150 diseases, including those at an early stage. The plant’s production capacity is 360 analyzers and 1.5 million sets of reagents.

Director General of LLP TAKURRA Andrey Kaizer reported to Olzhas Bektenov on the company’s readiness to substitute imported analyzers with domestic-produced ones at the hospitals of the country.

“The Head of State set a task to increase local content in procurements and the share of offtake contracts with domestic commodity producers. We work toward import substitution,” said Olzhas Bektenov, setting  a task to the Healthcare Ministry to analyze and consider the issue of gradual increase of the share of home-produced analyzers.

The Prime Minister was also informed about the company’s plans to produce modular automated real-time PCR test system and medical products.
