PM chaired session of Economic Consultants Council

ASTANA. November 13. KAZINFORM Today in the Ukimet Uyi Prime Minister Karim Massimov has chaired a regular session of the Council of Economic Consultants under the Kazakh President.

As the PM's press service informs, the Council heard and discussed a report of the PhD in economics Rakhman Alshanov on Agro-industrial policy of Kazakhstan amid globalization. The author assessed the current situation in the country's agro-industrial sector and gave recommendations on the measures needed for increasing productivity and competitiveness of agriculture of Kazakhstan.

Minister of Agriculture Akhylbek Kurishbayev, First Vice Minister of Industry and New Technologies Albert Rau, PhD in economics, professor Arystan Yessentugelov, Director of the Economic Institute of the Educational Science Ministry Orazaly Sabden and others participated in the discussion.

The members of the Council also heard and discussed a report of the Director of the Centre for Early Detection of Economic and. Financial Shocks Sara Alpysbayeva on the current situation and prospects of strengthening the positions of Kazakhstan's trade balance with the CU countries from the viewpoint of priorities of industrialization.

Vice Minister of Economic Development and Trade Kuandyk Bishimbayev, Chairman of the Association of Kazakhstan Financiers Serik Akhanov, Chairman of the Association of Kazakhstan Taxpayers Zhannat Yertlessov, First Vice Chairman of Atameken Union National Economic Chamber Yekaterina Nikitinskaya, Chairman of the Board of National Analytical Centre under the Government and National Bank of Kazakhstan Ayan Manasov,Head of Department of the Kazakh-British Technical University Nurlan Nurseit and Vice President of STAN Holding Company Kanat Ospanov took part in the discussion.

The Council of Economic Consultants was established on instruction of Prime Minister Karim Massimov in November 2008 for giving consultations for the leading Kazakhstani experts on urgent socio-economic issues. mThe Council consists of leading Kazakhstani experts and representatives of scientific-research centers specializing in economic problems.
