PM charged Energy Minister to accelerate implementation of project on Balkhash Thermal Power Plant construction

ASTANA. January 27. KAZINFORM /Bauyrzhan Mukanov/ Prime Minister Karim Massimov has charged Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sauat Mynbayev to accelerate implementation of the project on construction of Balkhash Thermal Power Plant and other facilities of electric power industry, Kazinform correspondent reports.

Last year KZT 2 bln was allotted from the national budget for the development of design and estimate documentation. The new plant will fully liquidate energy deficiency in the region. The interest of the state in this project will make 25% + 1 share. The period of the project?s implementation is 2008-2016. The first stage of the project will be commissioned by 2013, the second stage ? by 2016. According to the calculations, the total sum of budget expenditures for its realization will comprise KZT 39.8 bln.
