PM held a number of meetings

ASTANA. March 10. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan Prime Minister Karim Massimov held a number of meetings in the Ukimet Uiy; Kazinform refers to the Premier?s press service.

During the meeting with ex-President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Jean Lemierre issues regarding the current economic policy of Kazakhstan, financial stabilization programs and additional measures on economic development in the global economy were discussed. Jean Lemierre highly estimated the anti-recessionary measures and steps on ensuring economic stability taken by the Kazakh Government. During the meeting with rector of the Peoples? Friendship University of Russia Vladimir Filippov the sides discussed a number of topical issues of higher education. There was paid attention to a theme of extension of cooperation between the Kazakh and Russian universities, in particular, on development of exchange programs and joint magistracy. Later K.Massimov held a meeting with French Senator Amerie de Montesquieu. Within the meeting an exchange of opinions on issues of further development of cooperation between Kazakhstan and France were discussed. The parties discussed a number of issues connected with a visit of France President Nicolas Sarkozy to Kazakhstan. Within the meeting with President of the Islamic Development Bank Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Ali issues of development of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the IDB were considered. The head of the Bank highly estimated the economic potential, which Kazakhstan can realize in the Central Asian region, including within the framework of international organizations. K.Massimov and Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Ali expressed confidence in continuation of successful and fruitful cooperation.
