PM highly appraised innovation project being realized at Aksu Thermal Power Station
Aksu Thermal Power Plant is one of the largest electric power stations of Kazakhstan, its first block produced energy in 1968. The capacity of the plant makes about 2 mln 400 thousand kW today.
New owner of the plant Eurasian Energy Company JSC carries out systematic renewal of the thermal power station. According to President of Company Abduazim Rustambayev, such large-scale reconstruction work has not been done at any energy facilities of the CIS. "By 2016 we will finish reconstruction of all seven blocks of the station and will fix new efficient filters on all aggregates. The capacity, reliability and longevity of the equipment will be increased as well as its ecological parameters will be improved", he said.
Eurasian Energy Company JSC is the first enterprise in Kazakhstan which was awarded the certificate in quality management, ecology, social responsibility and labor protection. The station supplies energy to Aksu Ferroalloys Plant, Kazakhstan Electrolysis Plant JSC, Sokolov-Sarybay mining and enrichment enterprise and other leading industrial ventures of the republic.
The Head of the Government highly appraised the innovation project realized at present at the Aksu Thermal Power Station which was also included in the national industrialization map. In 2011 the second block of the station with the capacity of 300 MW will be restored and put into operation. The EEC has already utilized KZT 16 bln out of KZT 27 bln allocated for its reconstruction. The Company plans to erect ninth and tenth energy blocks with the capacity of 600MW each.
