PM Massimov: Kazakhstan should attract investment from around the world

He noted that Kazakhstan's strategic partner - Russia - within the next 10 years will pay more attention to cooperation with China than with the West. "Kazakhstan is geographically located between Russia and China. Therefore, great traffic will go from Russia to China and from China to Russia. We should take advantage of our country's location. We must capitalize on its geopolitical location and try to attract investment from around the world to make Kazakhstan more stable", said Karim Massimov, speaking at the VII Astana Economic Forum. He recalled that next week a treaty establishing the Eurasian Economic Union will be signed in Astana and Kazakhstan will become a part of the organization remaining politically independent. "This year we will join the WTO, we want to sign an agreement on further cooperation with the European Union and to further develop our relationship with China", concluded the PM.
