PM to participate in X ECO Summit in Tehran
ASTANA. March 10. KAZINFORM /Narymbek Ismagulov/ Prime Minister Karim Massimov is to participate in the X summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization in Tehran on March 1, Official Spokesperson of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry Yerzhan Ashikbayev has said at weekly briefing today, Kazinform reports.
A wide range of issues including the consequences of the world financial crisis, current objectives of the Organization connected with integration of the ECO into the world system of economic relations through tuning up mutually beneficial inter-regional economic cooperation and active mutual support in different aspects of socio-cultural and scientific-technical development will be on agenda of the summit.
XVIII conference of the ECO Foreign Ministers Council will be held on the eve of the summit. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Nurlan Yermekbayev is expected to take part in it.
The Economic Cooperation Organization was established in 1985 by Iran, Pakistan and Turkey. The members of the Organization are Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
