Held with the support of Prince Turki bin Nasser, chairman of the PME, GEF is the first ever environmental event of its kind in the Gulf region. It will bring many crucial industries together under three key themes: Exchange, Develop, Sustain.

GEF takes place at a time when perception about the environment is changing in the Middle East. A shift in attitude means it would open investment opportunities within the region. With the backing of influential organizations like UNDP and UNEP, this event signifies the Gulf Cooperation Council's commitment to develop the Gulf region for the benefit of all.

The inaugural event will combine an international exhibition and strategic conference where industry experts will gather at the luxurious Jeddah Hilton for the chance to discuss solutions and opportunities for a cleaner and brighter future.

It is estimated that over $100 billion environmental investment will be generated in the Gulf region over the next 10 years. With companies such as GE Energy, Saudi Aramco and Dow Chemical spearheading green initiatives, the world's biggest companies are now investing in one of the fastest growing markets in the world; Kazinform cites the Arab News.
