Pneumonia cases up in Oskemen
About 20 individuals with suspected pneumonia are being hospitalized in Oskemen every day, Kazinform News Agency reports.
A total of 200,863 cases of acute respiratory viral infections were registered in the region during the nine months of this year, representing a significant increase of over 1.5 times the figure recorded during the same period last year. In addition, the number of individuals who have fallen ill with pneumonia is growing.
From 15 to 20 patients with the symptoms of pneumonia visit doctors daily.
“Viral and COVID-19 pneumonia cases are registered. Pulmonology department is designed for 50 beds. The facility has sufficient space for patients and an adequate supply of medications. Two sick people are now in intensive care, one of them is on life support,” Sergey Popov, the chief physician of Oskemen Hospital No. 4, said.
At the same time, no fatalities were registered in the epidemic season in the regional center.
