Police seize 9 bags with marijuana in Zhambyl region

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Zhambyl police confirm they have seized huge amounts of marijuana in Shu district on Sunday.

The narcotics police said they arrested a 32-year-old resident of the Zhambyl region after seizing more than 9 bags with 120 kilograms of marijuana.

The bags with marijuana were confiscated. The man was taken in custody for suspected trafficking of marijuana on August 3 as part of anti-drug mission Koknar-2014.

A criminal investigation is underway. The arrestee may face 7 years in prison.
