According to Karin, based on the forecasts of international and local experts, Kazakhstan should have achieved this milestone by 2024 in the best-case scenario.

Karin added that the latest forecasts were far less ambitious.

In 2022 the Manpower Resources Development Center predicted the population of Kazakhstan will exceed 20,3 million in 2024 at the very best or 20,08 million in 2025 in the worst case scenario. However, thanks to baby boom, increase in life expectancy and reduced mortality rate, growth of Kazakhstan’s population has exceeded most ambitious forecasts.
