Preservation of working places key issue to date: Prime Minister
KARAGANDA. January 29. KAZINFORM /Valentina Yelizarova/ Today within the working trip to Karaganda oblast Prime Minister Karim Massimov has visited galvanizing and hot-dip aluminizing plants of ?Arcelor Mittal Temirtau? company, Kazinform reports.
After then the Head of the Government held a conference devoted to implementation of the country?s anti-recessionary program with the participation of the region?s authorities and heads of large major enterprises. Akim (governor) of Karaganda oblast Nurlan Nigmatullin told about the measures taken in the oblast today.
At the conference the Prime Minister was demonstrated a program of possible staff reduction that had been developed on the initiative of the region?s leadership last year.
According to N. Nigmatullin, the program covers 197 major enterprises of the region with personnel numbering more than 160 thousand people. ?This document provides for various scenarios of economic development and allows to take appropriate measures. Due to this program map we can gain insight in the situation in some or another region?, he said.
Then the akim of the oblast made a presentation of application of this program regarding the village of Aktau. ?Due to the timely adopted measures we could preserve 960 working places at ?Central Asia Cement? company, the main venture of this settlement?, he added.
Directors of ?Central Asia Cement?, ?Kazakhmys? and ?Arcelor Mittal Temirtau? companies made reports on the current situation at the meeting.
Summing up results of the conference, K. Massimov said that preservation of working places was the key issue to date.
The Head of the Government highly estimated the forecast program of the Karaganda oblast akimat and noted it was quite a well developed document.
