President appoints new Almaty region governor

TALDYKORGAN. KAZINFORM Today President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has met with the Almaty region core group.

At the meeting with businessmen and public associations reps held on Monday, the President noted particular significance of the region as one of the largest in the country, a home to 2 mln people. Nursultan Nazarbayev also stressed that the local agrarians fail to use the existing resources and do not work at implementing new technologies. Summarizing the results of the meeting, the Head of State introduced new governor of the region Amandyk Battalov.
