President called Indian businessmen to invest in Kazakhstan economy
DELHI. January 24. KAZINFORM /Aigul Tulekbayeva/ Today at a joint business forum in Delhi Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev called the Indian businessmen to invest in Kazakhstan, in particular, in IT-technologies, pharmacy, metallurgy, chemical industry and agriculture, Kazinform reports.
According to the President, our country is the largest partner of India in the Central Asian region.
?The goods turnover between our countries rose three times over 2008 and made USD 300 mln. This is not a high index, but we have good potential?, N. Nazarbayev noted. The Head of the State informed the businessmen of important agreements in oil and nuclear energy fields concluded upon completion of the talks with the President of India and members of the Government. ?India and Kazakhstan are not only friendly states, they become strategic partners in economic cooperation?, the President stressed.
According to N. Nazarbayev cooperation in establishment of new productions and transfer of technologies should be activated. ?India ranks the second in manufacture of pharmaceuticals. Kazakhstan annually imports medicaments worth USD 500 mln and we are interested in construction of such factories in our country?, he highlighted.
N. Nazarbayev expressed readiness for attraction of Indian business to manufacturing sector, agriculture, chemical industry and metallurgy.
The Head of the State also invited India?s IT-companies to work in Kazakhstan having reminded of a recently established Information Technologies Park near Almaty.
