President discussed measures on ensuring industrial and innovative development of Kazakhstan with Novel Prize winners

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev held a meeting with Nobel Prize winners, heads of international organizations and institutes of development as well as heads of big companies within the 8th Astana Economic Forum, the press service of the Akorda informs.

The measures taken by Kazakhstan on ensuring infrastructural and industrial and innovative development of Kazakhstan were discussed at the meeting.

Nursultan Nazarbayev thanked his interlocutors for participation in the work of the 8 th Astana Economic Forum and noted that the discussion platform was dedicated to the issues of regional infrastructural development this year.

"Presently, many countries face the problem of slowed down economic growth and outflow of investments. Developed countries also have a number of problems. Being a member of the global economy Kazakhstan tries to ensure stability in the region and be an example of sustainable growth. One of our main tasks is attraction of investments into development of human resources. In this regard, the Astana Economic Forum has become a good tradition. We have a lot to tell to the forum participants including the measures taken by Kazakhstan on ensuring infrastructural development. I hope that our efforts will contribute to development of the global economy," the President told.

The Head of State also drew attention of the participants to the problems and challenges the world community faces.

"Now we have to deal with such problems as the crisis of the world order and decline of confidence between countries, turbulence of the global economy, climate change, new fault lines including the Central Asian region and the inability of the world community to preserve peace. If we continue to resist these challenges, it will allow to open new horizons for development of the economy and for progress which means living standards for people," N. Nazarbayev said.

In turn, the participants noted that the Astana Economic Forum was an important platform for discussion of global social and economic problems.

Nobel Prize winner F. Kydland thanked the President of Kazakhstan for the invitation and emphasized that Kazakhstan was one of the rapidly developing countries of the world.

Marcos Bonturi, Director of the OECD Global Relations Secretariat, congratulated N. Nazarbayev on reelection having noted that the 100 steps for further state development program came just in time.
