President Erdoğan suggests common Turkic alphabet
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stressed the importance of introducing the common alphabet of Turkic-speaking countries, Kazinform Agency reports.
“Projects in the spheres of tourism and infrastructure of Turkic countries are of great importance to us. The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan crude oil pipeline, natural gas pipeline, and Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline serve as a bright example of our unity. Transportation of the Caspian Sea natural gas to Europe and Turkiye will be further continued. This project is called to ensure energy safety of Europe and prosperity of Turkic countries,” the President told the 10th Summit of the OTS member states in Astana.
He stressed the need to pay attention to transport ties and the development of the Caspian Sea-West-East corridor. The countries should bridge the gaps that hinder trade and transport ties. The countries should ease the visa process and tackle customs barrier issues.
The President also focused on the common Turkic alphabet. “The language and the common alphabet are of great importance for the countries’ unity. The Supreme Educational Council submitted its proposals to the OTS Secretariat. We hope the proposals will be highly appreciated,” the President said.
