President Medvedev marks his first anniversary in office

MOSCOW. May 7. KAZINFORM A year ago, on May 7th, 2008, Dmitry Medvedev was sworn in as the president of Russia. He became the third Russian president and the youngest head of state over the last hundred years, Kazinform refers to ITAR-TASS.

Medvedev?s press secretary Natalya Timakova said that the first anniversary of Medvedev?s presidency wouldn?t affect his working schedule. ?It?s going to be a normal working day, no special events are being planned,? Timakova said. ?The president will have several working meetings today, including conversations with war veterans- heroes of the USSR,? she added.
