President Nazarbayev attends Giselle ballet premiere
ASTANA. March 5. KAZINFORM /Gulnara Zhandagulova/ The ballet Giselle by Adolphe Adam has been shown on threshold of the International Women's Day.
President Nursultan Nazarbayev attended the premiere in the Palace of Peace and Concord. Minister of Labor and Social Protection Gulshara Abdykalikova and Senate Speaker Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited it as well.
The ballet Giselle was staged in Astana by well-known St. Petersburg's choreographer, ballet-master of the Mariinsky Theatre Sergei Vikharev. The first presentation of the ballet Giselle was held on June 28, 1841 on the stage of Grand Opera.
The main parts were danced by Paris Grand Opera soloists - Melanie Hurel (Giselle) and Karl Paquette (Albert). Kazakh artists Rustem Seitbekov, Rakhmitulla Nauanov, Baurzhan Mikembayev, Tair Gatauov and Madina Basbayeva also took part in the performance.
