President Nazarbayev gives instructions on spring sowing campaign
At the meeting, Minister Mamytbekov reported to the Kazakh President on the day-to-day activities of the ministry, preparations for this year's spring sowing campaign and plans for the upcoming period. Nursultan Nazarbayev paid utmost attention to the fact that agricultural sector of the country faced a number of challenges. "First of all, it is necessary to sort out financial standing of domestic agricultural enterprises. These enterprises should demonstrate results after receiving generous financial support from the government. Secondly, it is important to take care of domestic production of poultry, sausage products and apples that are mostly imported. In general, it is crucial to increase processing of and add value to farm products," the Head of State pointed out. President Nazarbayev went on by stressing the importance of qualitative and timely spring sowing campaign. Minister Mamytbekov, in turn, said that the spring sowing campaign had already kicked off in southern Kazakhstan. "Preparations are underway for the campaign in northern Kazakhstan as well," he added.
According to Assylzhan Mamytbekov, the national tax legislation has been amendments as part of the plan to stimulate domestic producers of agricultural goods. In conclusion, the Kazakh President gave a number of specific instructions to Minister Mamytbekov regarding the issued discussed at the meeting.
