President Nazarbayev meets heads 30 largest companies of world
DAVOS. January 269. KAZINFORM /Aigul Tulekbayeva/ President Nursultan Nazarbayev has met with heads of the 30 largest companies of the world in Davos (Switzerland) today. These are Alpinvest Partners (the Netherlands), Severstal (Russia), Abraaj Capital (the UAE), The Blackstone Group (the USA), Daesung Group (the Republic of Korea), Mubadala Development (the UAE) and others, Kazinform reports. Among the participants of the meeting are potential investors of the country and a number of companies like Arcelor Mittal, Shell, Total which work on our market.
The meeting was also attended by well known American economists and financiers like Michael Porter (representative of the Institute for Strategy and Competition, Harvard School of Business) and George Soros (Chairman of the company ?Soros Fund Management?). The Head of the State briefed on Kazakhstan?s plans and the Government?s anti-recessionary program. Kazakhstani side expressed interest in direct foreign investment and implementation of the projects on manufacturing of the products with high added value in metallurgy, agriculture, petrochemistry, oil and gas engineering and other sectors of economy.
In turn, the foreign businessmen and economists showed interest in investment climate of our country. Upon completion of the meeting, its participants agreed to meet in Astana to tune up contacts with the ministries, departments and akimats of Kazakhstan.
As earlier reported, Head of the State Nursultan Nazarbayev has arrived in Davos for participation in the session of the World Economic Forum that will last till January 31.
