President Nazarbayev on working trip to South Kazakhstan region

SHYMKENT. KAZINFORM - President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev paid a working visit to South Kazakhstan region on Thursday and surveyed the work of the largest greenhouse complex for the cultivation of vegetables in the republic, Kazinform refers to the president's press service.

During the working trip, the Head of State had a talk with local entrepreneurs and agricultural producers and praised positive dynamics of socioeconomic development in the region. "All necessary conditions have been created in South Kazakhstan region for the development of agro-industrial complex. The state renders all-round support to the development of domestic agricultural sector. Over the past 5 years the region has produced over 2 million tons of vegetables. As we are to open the borders with the EEU member countries, we should be able to meet both Kazakhstan and our neighbors' vegetable demand," President Nazarbayev said. The Kazakh President went on by stressing the necessity to develop transport infrastructure in the country. "Our trade and economy won't develop without decent roads. That is why we are constructing traffic networks countrywide, thus, creating thousands of new jobs," Nursultan Nazarbayev added. Modernly equipped by French company Rishel S.A., the greenhouse complex in South Kazakhstan region has a capacity of 6,000 tons of vegetables per year. It employs nearly 200 people.
