President Nazarbayev receives heads of social funds

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakh President has received Aruzhan Sain, director of "Mercy" voluntary society" fund and Azat Shaueyev, director of the state language development fund, the press service of Akorda reports.

During the meeting, the President noted the importance of providing comprehensive support of social initiatives. In this regard, the President of Kazakhstan donated to each fund $300,000 which he had received as a fee for the Peace Prize "Silk Road". Nursultan Nazarbayev was awarded the Silk Road Peace Prize during his official visit to China. "These funds, of course, will not solve all the existing problems. But it is a signal to our society that it should pay more attention to social problems. We are holding the meeting on the eve of Nauryz, meaning of which is to help each other, especially children," said Nursultan Nazarbayev. The President of Kazakhstan emphasized that "Mercy" voluntary society" fund provides assistance to children with serious illnesses. Nursultan Nazarbayev also noted that the development of the state language is essential for the future of the country. "This issue cannot be resolved quickly. It is necessary to provide comprehensive assistance to the development of the Kazakh language. It is important to attract intellectuals and promote new ways of learning the language," said the President of Kazakhstan. The President stressed that activities of NGOs are particularly important for social stability, which corresponds to the priorities of the state. President of Kazakhstan thanked A.Sain and A. Shaueyev for their work and wished them further success. *** "Mercy" voluntary society" fund is the initiator and organizer of such events as "Give life to children", "Kazakhstan without orphans" and "Autism can be treated!" aimed at helping children with serious illnesses. The state language development fund was established in September 2008 on the initiative of the Kazakh President. A key objective of the fund is to promote and support community initiatives including by sponsoring projects aimed at promoting the Kazakh language on the territory of the republic and abroad.
