President Nazarbayev to participate in CSTO jubilee session
Both events will be held at the Grand Kremlin Palace.
According to Kremlin's press service, the jubilee CSTO Collective Security Council's session will concentrate on the world's pressing problems and further joint efforts to counteract global and regional challenges and threats to the CSTO member countries. The participants are to give consideration to main outcomes of the CSTO activities over the period of its existence.
Upon results of the event CSTO top-level meeting will adopt a declaration that will give participatory assessment of principal trends of developments in the world and the CSTO activities.
The heads of the states are also expected to make a decision on establishment of the CSTO badge of honour as a means of encouraging state and public figures who have greatly contributed to strengthening of the collective security, maintenance of peace and stability, development of cooperation between the CSTO member states.
The session will bring together presidents of Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
Presidents of the CIS member countries are also to attend the informal top-level meeting in Moscow at the invitation of Russia's President Putin after the CSTO jubilee session.
The CIS leaders will exchange views on key directions of the Commonwealth's activities and development, and prospects of its further expansion during the informal meeting.
They are believed to focus on deepening of the economic integration within the Commonwealth of Independent States.
