President Nazarbayev visits perinatal center in eastern Kazakhstan

ASTANA. June 25. KAZINFORM Today, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has paid a visit to a regional perinatal center within his working trip around East Kazakhstan region, Kazinform has learnt from Akorda's press service.

During the visit, the Head of State was briefed on the core socioeconomic indicators and the implementation of the health care development program in eastern Kazakhstan.

President Nazarbayev noted that the state pays its utmost attention to the development of national health care system, resulting in sharp decline in maternal and child mortality and increase in life expectancy. The Head of State stressed the current measures facilitate formation of a healthy nation.

575-bed perinatal center has pediatric, obstetric and gynecologic blocks, as well as a birthing center. It currently numbers nearly 700 medical workers.
