President Nursultan Nazarbayev to open OSCE Summit in Astana Dec 1

ASTANA. November 30. KAZINFORM /Damir Baimanov/ President Nursultan Nazarbayev is expected to open the Summit of the OSCE Leaders in Astana tomorrow. OSCE Spokesperson Virginie Coulloudon informed of it at a briefing today.

"The Summit will begin with the Kazakh President's address. OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Secretary of State-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Kanat Saudabayev will deliver a speech after then. Secretary General of the UN Ban Ki-moon and President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Petros Efthimiou will take the floor after him", V. Coulloudon clarified.

She highlighted that heads of state and government will deliver speeches after the introductory part.

The OSCE Spokesperson noted that 38 heads of state and government of all OSCE member- and partner-countries would participate in the plenary session. She also informed that President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai would be among the Summit's participants since the problem of Afghanistan was one of the most important issues of the agenda.
