President of France condoles with Kazakhstan over tragedy in Kostenko mine
President of France Emmanuel Macron expressed his condolences to the bereaved families of miners killed in a fatal accident in the Kostenko mine, Kazinform News Agency reports.
In his latest Facebook post, the President of the French Republic noted that it is with sadness he learned of the tragedy that had happened in one of the mines in Kazakhstan several days ahead of his visit to the country. He went on by extending his condolences to the families and loved ones of those killed.
Recall that a powerful blast rocked the Kostenko mine in Karaganda region killing 33 miners. 18 people have been hospitalized with various injuries.
Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his condolences to the victims’ families and declared a national day of mourning on October 29. The President also ordered the Government to end investment cooperation with ArcelorMittal Temirtau and nationalize the company.
