President of Kazakhstan receives Chairman of National Bank

ASTANA. February 6. KAZINFORM Today President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has met with Chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan Grigory Marchenko, Kazinform refers to the President?s press-service. Mr. Marchenko informed the Head of the State on the status of the financial market and banking system in Kazakhstan after the devaluation of tenge.

The President noted that the devaluation of tenge was the necessary measure to help the Kazakh economy. The Head of the State also supported actions of the Government, Agency on Regulation and Supervision of Financial Market and Financial Organizations, ?SamrukKazyna? National Welfare Fund and the National Bank of Kazakhstan on strengthening state control in the banking sector of the country. The National Bank has succeeded in stabilization of the situation in the market of cash currency. The rate of the National currency has strengthened its positions without intervention of the National Bank. The situation in foreign exchange markets has been successfully stabilized, G. Marchenko said at the briefing.
