President of Kazakhstan sends telegram to Qatar ex-Emir on transfer of power
ASTANA. June 27. KAZINFORM - Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan, has sent a telegram to Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa, the former Emir of Qatar, in connection with the transfer of power to his son - Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, according to Akorda press service.
The letter reads that first Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa's official visit to Kazakhstan was in 1999 and became the basis for forming unbreakable ties of friendship between the two nations.
Nursultan Nazarbayev also mentioned that "Nur-Astana" Islamic cultural center, which was built with personal support of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa, is one of the main landmarks of Astana.
"I note with satisfaction that the spiritual center has become a symbol of friendship between Kazakhstan and Qatar, and I believe that under leadership of Emir Sheikh Tamim the dynamics of bilateral relations will not abate and cooperation will only deepen", stated in the telegram.
Head of State wished the friendly people of Qatar prosperity and affluence.
