President of Mongolia lays wreath at Monument of Unknown Soldiers in Vientiane
At the invitation of President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith, President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa is paying a State Visit to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic on November 5-7, 2023, MONTSAME reports.
On November 6, 2023, the President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, and his spouse Bolortsetseg Luvsandorj laid a wreath at the Monument of Unknown Soldiers.
The Monument, located in Vientiane, the capital of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, was erected on January 7, 2009, to honor the soldiers who died in the Laotian Civil War. The construction of the Monument, which stands 20 meters tall and 36 meters wide, took six months to complete.
On Lao Independence Day, Heads of State and Government of Laos lay a wreath at the Monument of Unknown Soldiers. Also, conventionally, Heads of State and Governments of foreign countries who arrive in the country on a visit lay flowers to pay respects to the Monument.
