President of Uzbekistan sums up country?s development in 2008

TASHKENT. February 16. KAZINFORM /Rassul Bakhamov/ In 2008 the GDP growth in Uzbekistan made 9%. President of the country Islam Karimov announced it at the last week session of the Cabinet on the results of the country?s socio-economic development in 2008, Kazinform correspondent reports.

In his report Islam Karimov noted that the overall output of industrial products increased up to 12.7%, in agriculture ? up to 4.5%, in construction ? up to 8.3% and in service industry ? up to 21.3% in 2008. The national budget was executed with surplus; the level of inflation did not exceed predicted index.
