President on how cheap Russian cars negatively affect Kazakhstani economy
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev participated in the youth forum titled "Towards new victories with the Nation's Leader!" in Astana on Friday, April 10.
At the forum, the Head of State talked about how marked down Russian cars could negatively affect Kazakhstan's economy in the long run. "Over the past couple of months many Kazakhstanis bought tens of thousands of cheap cars in Russia. It's not bad. However, by buying Russian cars in bulk, they did a disservice to domestic cars makers. If local car manufacturing plants stop, many Kazakhstanis will lose their jobs. Without salaries, they won't be able to buy food, even the cheapest staple food. And that will negatively affect domestic food producers. It's like a vicious circle," Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed.
