President Sadyr Zhaparov holds talks with ADB Vice President
President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov received today Vice President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Yingming Yang, Kabar reports.
The head of state congratulated on the 30th anniversary of the partnership between Kyrgyzstan and the ADB, expressing gratitude to the bank for its significant support in the socio-economic development of the country.
Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized that the economy of Kyrgyzstan demonstrates sustainable growth, which creates favorable conditions for the implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects. He paid special attention to the energy sector, which is a key priority for Kyrgyzstan.
In this context, the president proposed that the ADB take part in the implementation of the Kambar-Ata HPP-1 project, which will not only meet domestic demand for electricity, but also create opportunities for export to neighboring countries.
In addition, the head of state expressed gratitude to ADB for supporting the social housing program in Kyrgyzstan, recalling the adopted program "My Home - 2021-2026".
During the conversation, Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized that in Kyrgyzstan the past years were devoted to the fight against corruption and the eradication of the influence of crime, and this made it possible to lay a solid foundation for further economic growth and sustainable development of the country.
President Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized that now the main focus will be on economic development, improving the investment climate, as well as addressing issues related to climate change, which are an integral part of the national agenda.
In turn, Yingming Yang expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and emphasized that the bank highly appreciates the successes achieved by Kyrgyzstan in socio-economic development. ADB observes sustainable progressive development of the country, which is confirmed by both the data in the reports and real changes. Yingming Yang expressed readiness to continue to provide comprehensive support to Kyrgyzstan, especially in such priority areas as hydropower and renewable energy, climate projects, as well as social programs that promote inclusive development. The parties agreed to further develop cooperation that will strengthen the country's economic foundation and contribute to raising the standard of living of Kyrgyzstanis.
