The President said that transit has been Kazakhstan’s huge advantage in international competition for freight transportation. He stressed that this advantage should be fully and efficiently utilized.

“We should accelerate the construction of the Trans-Kazakhstan Railroad Corridor which will become a key link of the Trans-Caspian Route. Some of important projects are being implemented in this area, but we need to work further. I set a task to begin the construction of the Moyinty-Kyzylzhar railroad line and modernize the busiest sections of the railroad from Kyzylzhar station towards the Aktau Port,” the Head of State said.

The President also spoke on the need to expand Altynkol-Zhetygen section in order to enhance the potential of the transport corridor between China and Central Asia.

“Alongside, it is important to timely complete the projects of digitalization of railroad transportation. We need to concentrate efforts on the development of multi-modal hubs, which will enable us to integrate the transportations by all types of vehicles. This and next year must become breakthrough ones in this area,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.

“Successful development of logistics is impossible without implementation of modern technologies. The automation of warehouses, digitalization of routes, AI introduction in transport flows management should always be in the spotlight of the Government,” he added.

Earlier, the Head of State spoke on the need to create an international air hub in the territory of Kazakhstan.
