President signs Law on ratification of Agreement between Kazakh and Russian Governments on cooperation in maritime transport

ASTANA. March 24. KAZINFORM The Head of the State signed a law on Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Russian Federation on Cooperation in Maritime Transport last week. The Agreement was signed on October 4, 2007 at the Forum of heads of border regions with participation of presidents of Kazakhstan and Russia, Kazinform refers to the press service of the Kazakh Ministry of Transport and Communications.

The Agreement is aimed at regulation and development of relations between Kazakhstan and Russia in the sphere of commercial navigation. Its achievement gives an opportunity to use effectively marine fleet and ports of both countries, to ensure safety at sea, including safety of ships, crew, cargo and passengers, as well as enhance the protection of the marine environment. Besides, the agreement will be one of the mechanisms of the promotion and development of international transport corridors passing through the territory of Kazakhstan and Russia.
