President Tokayev invites Guinea-Bissau delegation to attend Astana International Forum
Highlighting Kazakhstan’s achievements in digitalization, cybersecurity and financial technologies, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev proposed Guinea-Bissau to expand contacts in the field of digital services, Kazinform News Agency learned from the Akorda press service.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev invited the delegation of Guinea-Bissau to participate in the Astana International Forum slated for the next year.
“This will enable you to learn more about Kazakhstan’s economic and investment potential. Cultural and humanitarian ties play an important role in the reproachment of our peoples. I have invited young people of Guinea-Bissau to study in Kazakhstani universities. These measures, undoubtedly, will help promote all-round cooperation between our countries,” said the Head of State.
The sides exchanged views on the international situation.
The President of Kazakhstan stated that the two countries share common positions on many topical issues.
“We share common approach to the issue of maintaining global peace and regional stability. Amid the current geopolitical conditions, it is crucial to provide mutual support and hold consultations within the United Nations and African Union. In general, there is a wide spectrum of opportunities for strengthening the bilateral relations. Today’s important agreements is a clear proof of that. I am confident that the visit of Umaro Sissoco Embaló will give a new impetus to the cooperation between Kazakhstan and Guinea-Bissau,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized.
Umaro Sissoco Embaló touched upon the opportunities of strengthening cooperation in a number of sectors.
“Kazakhstan and Guinea-Bissau possess necessary mechanisms to boost interaction in such spheres as exploration of mineral resources, education and hydrocarbons exports. We are also interested in further deepening of contacts within various international platforms and promotion of our multifaceted ties,” said the President of Guinea-Bissau.
Umaro Sissoco Embaló arrived in Kazakhstan for an official visit at the invitation of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The two presidents adopted a joint statement, after which they held a briefing for mass media.
