President Tokayev meets with Kazatomprom Chairman Meirzhan Yussupov

During the meeting, Kazakh Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was reported on the outcomes of Kazatomprom’s activity for 2023 and the objectives and plans for the short and medium term, Kazinform News Agency cites Akorda. 

The Kazakh President was briefed that last year the company’s uranium production and sale stood at over 21 and 18 thousand tons, respectively.

According to Yussupov, 64% of the total shipments of uranium from Kazakhstan to the Western countries were carried out via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route in 2023.

The Kazakh Head of State was also informed about the investment projects carried out by the Kazatomprom Group of Companies as well as the socially significant projects aimed at developing and supporting the regions of presence.

President Tokayev was also reported on the work on expansion and replenishment of mineral resource base.

Following the meeting, Tokayev gave a number of concrete instructions to increase the efficiency of Kazatomprom’s operations.
