President Tokayev heard report on implementation of 'Law and Order' concept
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Minister of Internal Affairs Yerzhan Sadenov to hear a report on the crime situation in the country, Kazinform News Agency cites Akorda.
As Minister Sadenov said, the number of criminal offences has fallen by 5,500 and that of criminal crimes by almost 10,000 since the beginning of the year. There has been a decrease in the number of offences committed in public places and by minors. Besides, detection of all categories of crimes has improved.
The Kazakh minister reported on the realization of the concept 'Law and Order', measures to create a zero-tolerance culture for offences and their prevention.
Over the reporting period, 40% more administrative offences have been prevented, including 30% more cases of vandalism and 48% more traffic violations. 32% more persons have been deprived of their driving licenses, including for drunk driving. Over 1,600 wanted criminals, including 158 abroad, have been detained.
President Tokayev was also informed about the implementation of his instructions regarding combat against organized, cyber- and drug-related crimes, ensuring road safety, improving the penitentiary system and digitizing human resources processes.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gave a number of instructions to further improve law and order as well as public safety in the country.
