President Tokayev visits SPK Turkistan industrial park
During his working trip to Turkistan, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has visited the SPK TURKISTAN industrial park which implements the regional investment projects, Kazinform News Agency learned from the Akorda press service.
The industrial park is expected to cover the area of 100 hectares. The first stage of the project will be implemented on an area of 30 hectares with all infrastructure and communications needed. 29 projects worth 96.9 billion tenge are set to be implemented at the first stage of the project. Eight productions with the total volume of investments at 36.5 billion tenge have already been launched, and 712 new jobs have been created.
The President surveyed a vegetable warehouse storing 3,500 tons of vegetables and 500 tons of groceries. The enterprise supplies foods to the city of Turkistan, as well as to Kentau and Arys towns. The project was implemented by Turkistan Socio-Entrpreneurship Corporation and M-Adal company. Another storehouse with the capacity of 2,000 tons of products will be built in Saryagash to supply foods to Lenger, Zhetysai, Shardara and Saryagash settlements.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also surveyed the workshops of BNK Group company specializing in production of sprinkler and drip irrigation systems. Together with Nelson Irrigation, a U.S. company, the enterprise launched the production of irrigation machines under the BNK IRRIGATION brand.
The President also visited Aqniet Holding, specializing in manufacture of school furniture. In the past three years, the company has provided furniture to nearly 50 schools. In collaboration with KAZMEDPRIBOR, the company manufactures equipment for healthcare organizations.
Another enterprise surveyed by the President was Jasyl suyq Qazaqstan manufacturing refrigeration and freezing equipment.
Bulgaria’s UBC Group is set to launch two production lines in Turkistan region. The investor plans to inject 5 million euros in the first stage of the project.
As many as 350 new jobs will be created on the production site of SPK TURKISTAN. The second plant will be launched in the territory of Turan Special Economic Zone with 7.5 billion tenge to be invested in it. The plant is expected to produce up to 10,000 refrigeration and freezing equipment and employ up to 1,000 people.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also visited Turan Su enterprise specializing in maintenance of irrigation systems and provision of settlements with drinking water. According to Governor Darkhan Satybaldy, the region set a goal to launch 145 investment projects worth 2.5 trillion tenge in 2024-2027 which will let create more than 20,000 new jobs.
The President was also informed about the talks held with the Chinese company Xinjiang Lihua (Group) Co. Ltd on raising elite cotton varieties and creating a textile cluster in the region.
The region plans to implement a number of other large-scale projects, such as construction of a combined cycle gas turbine with the capacity of 926.5MWt, solar and wind power stations with the capacity of 800 MWt, a five-star hotel in Turkistan, production of drones and video surveillance cameras, gas-fired boilers, household appliances, equipment for mining complex and aluminum items.
