President urges to speed up 5G rollout in rural areas
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to speed up rolling out 5G in rural areas in Kazakhstan at the Digital Bridge 2023 Forum on Thursday in Astana, Kazinform Agency correspondent reports.
While addressing the forum, the Head of State emphasized that a large-scale 5G backhaul underway in Kazakhstan will be a big boost to the development of innovations.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev urged to speed up the introduction of 5G technology in all rural areas previously scheduled for 2027 amid the onrush of technology.
“The Government should complete this work ahead of schedule by the end of 2025. Clearly, the shift in schedule should not affect the quality [of implementing 5G in rural areas],” President Tokayev stressed.
The Head of State stressed it is crucial to ensure roll out of 5G service in the most distant areas of the country.
He called on the Government to work on that problem comprehensively and amend the legislation, if necessary.
