Presidents of Kazakhstan and Armenia visit Astana International Financial Centre
President of Kazakh Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and his counterpart Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan who is paying an official visit to Kazakhstan visited the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), Kazinform News Agency cites the Akorda press service.
AIFC governor Renat Bekturov told the presidents about the centre’s key activities and its contribution to the development of regional initiatives.
Investments attracted through the AIFC into Kazakhstan’s economy surpassed 13 billion US dollars, of which 5.9 billion US dollars are portfolio investments at the AIX stock exchange and 7.3 billion of investments of the AIFC partner companies. Some 3,200 companies from more than 80 countries are working at the AIFC, including six large companies from Armenia engaged in information and communication technologies, financial services and insurance.
Besides, the presidents got acquainted with the peculiarities of the AIFC court system and the International Arbitration Centre, Astana Financial Services Authority.
As earlier reported, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev greeted President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan who arrived for an official visit to Kazakhstan at the Akorda Residence in Astana. Following the solemn ceremony the presidents had talks.
