Prime Minister held meeting with Engineering Workers Guild's members

ASTANA. August 5. KAZINFORM - Serik Akhmetov, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, has held a meeting with members of Engineering Workers Guild of Kazakhstan. The meeting discussed the current situation, future plans and problematic issues of the industry, according to the press service of Prime Minister.

A.Rau, the first Vice-Minister of Industry and New Technologies, reported on domestic machinery industry development. According to him, it has positive dynamics of growth but there is great potential for more rapid enhancement.

There is also an increase in the share of machinery in the structure of manufacturing industry. Within January-June 2013 the share of the economic sector, in comparison with the same period of the last year, has increased by 2% to 13.2%.

"The state provides support for the sector. At present, 15 companies are entering "Performance 2020" program. As part of the Industrialization Map 57 projects for a total amount of KZT 197 billion (tenge) are being implemented", - he said.

A.Rau made a proposal to consider introduction of state subsidies of consumer loans for purchasing domestically produced vehicles.

M.Pshembaev, chairman of the board of Engineering Workers Guild, Majilis deputy also spoke at the “round table”.

He noted that over the three years of the State Program of Forced Industrial-Innovative Development the engineering sector grew by more than 2.5 times.

Summing up the meeting Akhmetov stated that current indicators of the branch show the effectiveness of the state's policy.
