Prime Minister sets a number of tasks to Competition Protection Agency

ASTANA. January 16. KAZINFORM /Aigul Tulekbayeva/ Following the results of the sitting of the Kazakh Agency for Competition Protection, Prime Minister Karim Massimov gave a number of instructions; Kazinform reports.

?The year 2009 is devoted to economy stabilization and antirecessionary program. I think that protection of competition is a key issue. We must present right competitive conditions to everybody so that the freedom of private entrepreneurship could be reinforced by real actions. This is the main task I set before your agency?, the Primer said. The Head of the Government noted that equal competition is not in fact always provided. He reminded that in 2006 President Nazarbayev defined the task to prevent creation of monopoly in this sphere. ?That time it was out of the Government?s competition, the issue was within the scope of jurisdiction of the Financial Supervision Agency which was a separate structure, not subordinated to the Government.? Now the issue is under control of the Competition Protection Agency. Thus now we control over the issue. I think that the previous imperfect work in the financial sector gives the results which we see today. But now it is in the past?, K. Massimov emphasized.
