Production of livestock products increased in Kyrgyzstan
The volume of livestock production has increased in Kyrgyzstan, the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, Land Reclamation and Processing Industry of the republic reported Monday, Kabar reports.
As of Dec. 21, 2024, the republic produced 414.4 thousand tons of meat in live weight in all categories of livestock products. This shows that compared to the same period last year, 10,425 tons or 2.6% more meat was produced. The increase in meat production in the republic is due to the increase in the number of farm animals.
For the current year, the country produced 1,692.5 thousand tons of milk, up by 2.3%, due to an increase in the number of dairy cows and higher milk yield.
In addition, 734,454 thousand eggs (up 15%) and 13,157.4 tons of wool (up 1.9%) were produced in the corresponding period, the growth is related to an increase in the number of laying hens and sheep.
“These results reflect positive changes in the country's livestock production,” the report said.
