Production of meat, milk, eggs and wool increased in Kyrgyzstan
An increase in production of meat, milk, eggs and wool is observed in Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the country’s Ministry of Agriculture reported, Kabar reports.
For the reporting period of 2024, republic’s economic entities of all categories produced 366.9 thousand tons of meat in live weight, which is 7717 tons or 2.1% more than the corresponding period of last year.
The increase in meat production in the republic is mainly due to the growth of the number of farm animals.
Milk production. In January-October 2024, economic entities produced 1577.6 thousand tons of milk, which is 37287 tons or 2.4% more than in the same period last year.
Increase in milk production in the republic is due to the growth of milking cows by 16.5 thousand heads compared to the last year and increase in cow productivity, with the average milk yield per cow for the reporting period increased by 55.6 kg and amounted to 1780.6 kg.
Egg production. During the reporting period, 679686 thousand eggs were produced in the republic, which is 87388 thousand more, or amounted to 114.8% of the corresponding period of last year.
Egg production increased in all regions of the republic.
Increase in egg production is due to the growth of laying hens by 571.1 thousand heads and increase in productivity of laying hens by 18 pieces of eggs compared to the same period last year.
Wool production. As of Nov.1, 2024, 13157.4 tons of wool was produced in the republic, which is 243 tons more or 101.9% in comparison with the corresponding period of the last year.
Wool production increased in all regions of the republic due to the growth of sheep population by 37609 heads and increase of average wool shearing from one sheep by 0.3 kg compared to the corresponding period of the last year.
