Production of vegetable oil, juices, butter, canned food and powdered milk decreased: Agriculture Minister

ASTANA. January 12. KAZINFORM /Bauyrzhan Mukanov/ Production of vegetable oil decreased by 25 percent, juices – by 30 percent, butter - by 14 percent, meat and cereal cans – by 9.4 percent, milk powder – by 10 percent in the republic. Kazakh Minister of Agriculture Akhylbek Kurishbayev has announced it at the Kazakh Government?s telephone conference; Kazinform reports.

?The main reason of such situation is the shortage of credit funds. According to the data of the Kazakh National Bank, second-tier banks gave loans amounting to KZT 159 bln to processers of agricultural products over 11 months of 2008. We proposed to credit the processing production at the expense of funds of ?KazAgro? JSC and ?Damu? Fund?, A.Kurishbayev said. ?Governors and Mayors should report on an activity in this sphere. We ask to activate work in this direction. It is necessary to analyze every processing enterprise?, the Minister noted.
